Next up in our series is the Charlottesville coffee shop, Hotcakes. Located in the Barracks Road shopping center, the cafe offers a variety of appetizers, entrees, and desserts.

You'll find my Caffe Mocha soap among their selection of chocolates and other gifts.

Speaking of the Caffe Mocha soap, the newest batch is now in stock and has been reformulated to emphasize the coffee bean scent. It really looks like fudge!

2011 is coming to a close. A big thank-you to everyone who has been a part of supporting me in this start-up business over the past year. Made with high amounts of pure olive oil, known to be healing and softening to the skin, these vegetable-based soaps are especially mild and gentle, great for your face, babies, or those with sensitive skin. I have cured these soaps for 4 long months to bring you a product that gets better with age. These olive oil soaps are nice and hard, thus long-lasting. For those of you who are castile connoisseurs, please send me your feedback on these new soaps; I’d love to hear what you think!

• Castile soap: fragrance-free, 100% pure olive oil soap
• Laurel Bay olive oil soap: lightly scented 80% olive oil blend
• Skin Soother soap: This healing soap was formulated to help with acne prevention and rejuvenation of sensitive skin. Its ingredients include olive, coconut, castor, and avocado oils; mango butter; aloe vera; bentonite clay; and tea tree, cedarwood, lavender, and peppermint antibacterial essential oils.

Stop #4 on our local tour is the Long Meadow Cheese Shop, a newly-opened store in Fishersville, VA. The historic building, which formerly contained a cabinet shop, is now full of a variety of bulk food and gift items.

The cheese shop is conveniently located right off off Rt. 250 on Long Meadow Road. In addition to their retail selections, one can also order a gift basket artfully put together by Kim Warren Pickett, the co-owner of the business.

You'll find a basket of my handmade soaps amongst the array of spices, nuts, pastas, and more.

Puff's Barbecue, a family-owned restaurant and store in Millboro, Virginia, is the next stop on our tour of stores where you can find Pleasant View Soaps retailed around Virginia. 

Puff's serves maple pit-cooked bbq, ice cream, and more.

Their store next door to the restaurant displays a variety of locally-produced goods, from furniture and photography, to fresh produce, maple syrup, and an array of barbecue sauces.

Because the owner, Mr. Puffenbarger himself, also runs Southernmost Maple camp in Bath County, I developed 2 special seasonal soaps that incorporate their maple syrup into the recipe at his suggestion: Pumpkin Maple Spice, and Maple Apple Streusel soap "cupcakes."
